Join us to sew on Mondays at St Joseph AME in Durham. We often work together on quilting projects for our community. Want to try a new sewing project? There is always someone available to teach new skills or help you with your project.
Check out the Events Calendar for more details.

Join us to sew on Saturdays. We work together on projects for our community or our own personal projects. Whether you're just learning to sew or want to join an active sewing group, we can provide you with a kit to make a quilt, pillowcase, bag, or walker bag for our community.
Interested in joining us for future Saturday Sewing Sessions? Let us know and we'll keep you posted on upcoming dates!

We can teach you how to sew! We offer classes to help everyone from beginners to advanced sewers.
For adults, we start with projects that teach you the basics -- table runners, pillows, bags, and more. We have many ideas and fabrics for you to choose from.
Classes stay small with just two to ten adults so everyone gets individual attention.
We're dreaming big: a whole community of sewists who know how to make something and want to give it away..
Contact us at connectingwiththreads2@gmail.com to set up a class today!

No classroom? No problem. With our mobile classroom, we bring everything (sewing machines, fabric, notions) and set up wherever there's space. Hallways included.
We recently taught a group of teachers how to make a table runner. Our sessions have built their community of sewers right at their place of work. Sewing is a way for them to relax and join together at the end of their day.

Our goal is to teach people to sew so that they can then give back to their community.
If you want to make an item for the community, we offer free kits - with fabric and instructions - for a project that ends up in someone else's hands.

In December, through a generous donation, CWT members were able to make 6 quilts which were presented to individuals who live in a community group home and have been attending St Joseph AME regularly. Our CWT members and their pastor did a GREAT job of honoring the work. I love the biblical references to the importance of sewing.
