QUILTS FOR DOGS

A big part of our mission at Connecting with Threads is giving back to our community.

As we work with kids, we want to find ways for them to give back that excite them and encourage them to look around for other ways to give back.

At the end of our first Learn to Sew! session with the Durham Southwest Library,

the eight kids ages 8-15 made small quilts to be donated to NC State Vet college

in support of the dogs that are housed there.  While we obtained some very cute "doggie fabric" for our human eyes, we were also able to use some fabrics that perhaps weren't great for making human quilts since dogs really don't care what is printed on the fabric! Perhaps we did a little upcycling as well!
