We provide an after school program to teach kids how to sew. Contact us for more information. We always need volunteers to help us teach these classes.
We host a program on Saturday mornings at the Southwest Durham library. The next session begins at the end of September and signups will begin soon!
We invite all students at Durham Technical Community College to join us to learn how to sew. We upcycle and make many items for our community. Check the Events tab for dates!
Join us on Mondays and Saturdays to sew along with us. We will provide sewing macines, supplies, and kits for quilts or
bags. We are a welcoming community who will teach you how to sew! Our Events tab gives you all of the dates and meeting locations. Contact us with any questions!

On August 9, we will have a class on learning how to put various colors together in your quilts.
On August 30, we will have a paper piecing class.
On Sept 13, we will learn about using a rotary cutter.
And, on Sept 27, we will learn about a One Block Wonderr quilt.
We are a diverse group of people who provide education about sewing and quilting in order to nurture our broader community by giving them quilts, bags, and other handmade products.
Connecting with Threads offers programs to support seniors in our community.
We recently met with residents at Waltonwoods in Cary and talked with them about the work we do. We provided them with activities to participate in as well.

In December, through a generous donation, CWT members were able to make 6 quilts which were presented to individuals who live in a community group home and have been attending St Joseph AME regularly. Our CWT members and their pastor did a GREAT job of honoring the work. I love the biblical references to the importance of sewing.
